Yesterday in NYC (where I live) we saw the worst air quality in the world. Wildfire smoke from Canada swept across the East coast covering whole cities in hazardous air. A smoggy smoke filled haze turned to an eerie Mars like orange glow from another planet. We pulled out our masks and wore them outside and took them off when we got indoors.
Very quickly strange turned to terrifying. Schools are closed until Monday and like millions of parents I am in forced into a conversation about climate change with my child. How can we talk to our kids about climate change? Maybe some other resource can better answer that. For now, for us, the best thing might be to read to them. Here are a few books for different ages and levels to explore this topic.
Hope you are all staying safe and healthy.
