Up to this point we’ve been very Harriet focused and that makes a lot of sense. She’s completely captivating and original. She is also the perspective by which we’ve filtered our understanding of events and characters. Basically, if Harriet were a star, she’d be the Sun because the whole plot revolves around her.
When we add in free indirect style, we have gotten more and more used to how she see things, how she responds, and has developed new feelings. But Harriet is not the ONLY character in this story. In fact, for all her secretive spying, she has made a lot of impact on people, for better or for worse. For this writing prompt, let’s flip the script and imagine what the other characters have to say.
