One of the best parts about reading a book is getting the chance to immerse yourself in another world. But maybe even better than that is the chance to take what you are reading and apply it to your own life and experiences.
Why I create writing prompts in response to books is exactly for this reason. Reading is not passive, but a very active thing! It lights up our imagination and can inspire our own stories. Books have a lot to teach and one of those things is how to write.
