Hello Reader and welcome to your June book! This month we are reading Pax by Sara Pennypacker. (cool name!) And illustrated by Jon Klassen from I Want My Hat Back fame.

I am delight to read this one with you. The writing is very descriptive, immersive and there are tons of examples of rich language to expand your vocab. But above all, the story is emotional and compelling and a pleasure to read.

In this book we follow the story to a boy and a fox. We will see how Pax and Peter’s journeys are similar and different and how they both change over time. It covers themes like friendship, love, and adventure, and many more.

In this post I offer some insightful and inspiring discussion questions to deepen comprehension, we learn about perspective in storytelling, and finish with a creative writing prompt inspired by the book. So what are we waiting for? Let’s read!
