What is For the Love of Words?

Who am I and what is this?
4

Well hello!

It has been a minute since I’ve introduced myself, so I wanted to quickly check in and say hi to you. Hi! Over the last few months I’ve been busy at work to bring you and your family thoughtful discussion questions, activities, writing prompts, and educational material on the best books for kids 8-13. And what a joy it has been!

Being a writer and teacher it has always been my biggest pleasure to share books and writing and to help young readers and writers develop their talents and think deeper about literature. Books have so much to offer and this newsletter hopes to bring all of that to you.

Each month we read a book and each week you’ll receive TWO posts. One is a reading/educational guide and the second a creative writing prompt and lesson based on the book.

Together we Read. Think. Share. Write.

What it is and who it is for?

  • A community of learners sharing their ideas and work.

  • A resource for homeschooling parents, or any parent looking to supplement their child’s education.

  • A supportive space for reading enthusiasts and creatives to share and learn from each other.

  • And ultimately a place to foster a lifelong love of reading and critical/creative thinking.

Thank you so much for being here and supporting this work. And thank you for sharing with a reader/writer in your life.
