I have a fun writing exercise on Point of View. We’ll start with a little background on what it is and how it is used in storytelling. Then we’ll take what we learned and apply that to From the Desk of Zoe Washington for your final creative writing prompt for this book.
First off, what is point of view?
It can mean a couple of things. The first is the vantage point, or physical position someone is seeing something from. Think of a concert hall or sports arena. Some seats you are in the action, others are to the side, maybe you are in the cheap seats way far away. The second meaning is the way a person views a certain subject or event. But the whole point around point of view is that people have different ways of seeing things and that’s where things get tricky.
